Nicola Jane Aiken was born on 4 February 1969. She is 53 years old currently and serving in the parliament diligently. The British Conservative Party politician is now serving as the Member of Parliament. She has previously been the Leader of Westminster City Council. Nickie was born and raised in Cardiff. Her parents are John and Pamela Durbin. She started going to Radyr Comprehensive School, Cardiff, and the University of Exeter. As she was a bright student she quickly graduated with BA honors in Sociology in 1991.

Political Career Success

Nickie moved to London in 1997. She served as the head of Public Relations in Bradford from 2001 to 2009. In 2006 she got another promotion and was elected as Conservative councilor for Westminster City Council. This helped her have a safe seat for her party and covered a wide area in Pamlico.  After working hard for many years she decided to step down from her position on the Council. As a cabinet member of Children’s Services and Public Protection & Licensing, she took care of everything diligently.

In the year 2015-2018, she acted as the board member of the Child and Family Court Advisory and Support Service. Moreover, she became a trustee of the board of Royal Parks. After spending a few hours doing these duties she stepped away from them in 2020. She decided to remain a part of the European Union in 2016. If this isn’t enough she supported Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the Brexit withdrawal deal. Apart from that, she was in favor of the Internal Market Bill that was passed in 2020.

Nickie was elected as the Conservative Party’s candidate. This included both the Central London seat of the Cities of London and Westminster. Moreover, she started to have a tough fight for the general elections in 2019. Due to some issues, Nickie decided to quit Twitter and called it ‘Toxic’. Since then she has not yet decided to return to social media.

 During the general elections, she defeated the Labour Party’s Gordon Nardell and Chuka Umunna by a big margin.  The Liberal Democrat candidate had earlier left the party citing issues with Jeremy Corbyn. In these elections, she received 3,953 votes and became everyone’s favorite in a short time. Her nearest competitor Umunna couldn’t reach her popularity. There was a significant decrease in the majority of votes held by the previous MP.

As Nickie already got popularity due to high votes. She decided to have another position in the parliament and joined the Women and Equalities Committee. In 2020, she got appointed as the vice chairman of the Conservative Party.  During this time she took perfect care of the women around her. Seeing her success in this part, the party pushed Nickie for another responsibility. She started working for child safety and brought excellent results.  Her success story continues in recent years as well. In 2021 she joined the Monken Hadley Common Bill Unopposed Bill Committee.

Nickie Aiken lived in Pamlico for around 20 years. However, before that, she resided in Barbican. She maintained a good balance in her personal and professional life. Currently, she is married to Alexander Stuart Aiken. He is working as the executive director of government communications at the Cabinet Office for the UK Government. 

Moreover, he worked as the director of communication and strategy for Westminster City Council. His wife was also working there till that time. The much-loved couple has a son and daughter.
