According to Secret London, the city of London witnesses twelve seasons. Currently, we’re in “hell”—the season which follows “the pollening”.
Despite experiencing one of the hottest summer’s yet, many are craving outdoor adventures this summer.
Some have taken to Taylor Swift-themed jaunts around London in preparation for her “Eras Tour” commencement, others are picking sunflowers at Tulley’s Farm, and some are rediscovering Hackney’s heavenly pubs and green spaces.
Sounds like a typical, quintessential, London summer…
While those are all great days out, there’s a company offering a daring cityscape adventure set to make you feel as though you’re a mix between Sherlock Holmes and 007 himself.
London’s crevices, back alleys and pubs have never seemed more inviting, especially when you’re playing a cat-and-mouse game with your crew.
For native Londoners, it’s common knowledge that you can live in London your entire life and not see everything.
In an effort to take both tourists and locals on a standout, wild tour of London, StreetHunt Games launched their signature “Hunts”, blending iconic locations with mysterious circumstances, all alongside a dedicated chance for a cheeky tipple in the rare sun.
StreetHunt Games hasn’t only limited itself to the traveller’s capital of the world. Incorporating the idea of a “Hunt” in fitting British style, StreetHunt Games offers a York-based “Hunt” as well. Literary fanatics will love The Secret History-like “Hunt” which hits the mark both in terms of storyline and location.
Some of us have always had the inner urge to live out our Hogwart’s dreams. While we know York is the place to do so, StreetHunt Games adds an extra alluring layer to the fantasy. The York “Hunt” offers the perfect backdrop, accompanied by a mystery that rivals that of the Chamber of Secrets.
StreetHunt Games is pioneering a newfound wave of tourism with its unique perspective—a daring task given the volume of travel-oriented tours across London.
Unlike traditional travel tours, this experience lacks a previewed itinerary, making it all the more enticing.
“We love to travel and seek out unique experiences; especially immersive events, theatre, escape room games, finding new places to eat and drink,” explained StreetHunt Games Founders, Annaliza and Tony.
What is StreetHunt Games?
Similar to a Stephen King thriller, StreetHunt Games’ “Hunts” set the scene virtually and then cleverly build a unique narrative, one which you, the game “hunter”, shall control. By solving clues and using an interactive virtual map, you shall manoeuvre your way across a selection of London’s historical landmarks and through York’s most secretive streets.
To get to the next location, you’ll need to solve clues received to your mobile. In between locations, there’s the opportunity to take in the sights and stop to truly examine certain “shots”—both liquid and virtual.
Drawing on the moodiness of Gunpowder Square, The Coffee Yard, Sicilian Avenue and Fleet Street just to name a few, StreetHunt Games’ “Hunts” range from moderate to challenging, typically take 1.5-2 hours to complete, and are all priced under 20 quid. The “Hunts” are suitable for ages 10+ but bear in mind that the “Hunts” do explore the complexity of themes such as murder and drugs.
The “Hunts” follow a simple 8-step process and leave the whole group feeling as though they know more about London and York’s intricate nuances than its natives. StreetHunt Games embraces dramatic backdrops, secluded corners and spicy pitstops, rounding everything off with a gratifying sense of accomplishment (if you crack the case, that is).
