UK (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Heavy snow and gale-force winds are forecast for north and north-east Scotland at the start of the new year, prompting weather warnings.

From 6:00 on Thursday, New Year’s Day, to night on Friday, the Met Office has issued an unheroic” be apprehensive” warning. 

By Friday, there could be as much as two elevations( 5 cm) of snow at low elevations and up to four elevations( 10 cm) in certain areas. 

Advanced ground may admit up to eight elevation( 20 cm) of snow, while hills may admit up to twelve elevation(30 cm). Because of the strong gusts, there’s a warning about” significant” snow drifting. 

The Hebrides, the Northern Islands, and portions of Argyll and Bute are included in the alert. 

The trip would presumably be disintegrated by heavy and frequent snow showers, according to the Met Office. 

The UK Health Security Agency( UKHSA) has issued two amber health warnings in England. 

The cautions, which gauge the North East and North West of England until 1200 on January 5, advise of an increase in deaths, especially among the senior and vulnerable. 

On January 3 and 4, snow is likely in the North West, and temperatures in these areas are predicted to drop to about -4C.

What safety precautions should residents take before the storm hits?
