Croydon (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Ofsted has released its latest inspection report for St Peter’s Primary School in Croydon, offering a detailed assessment of standards and pupil progress.

As reported by Your Local Guardian, the “ambitious curriculum,” “strong leadership,” and “nurturing environment” of St Peter’s Primary School in Croydon, which is a part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust, were appreciated.

The school has taken “effective action” to uphold the previously recognized criteria, according to the findings of the two-day inspection, which was conducted on April 1 and 2, 2025.

The school is a place where students flourish academically and personally, according to the inspector.

According to the students, their school is “welcoming and inclusive,” and the Ofsted inspector saw how “proud and happy” the kids are to be a part of the St. Peter’s village.

All students, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, are supported and actively involved in their education thanks to the school’s inclusive approach.

From the early years to Year 6, the school provides a well-thought-out curriculum that encourages excellence.

Particularly excellent are early reading and arithmetic, which are taught by competent and experienced teachers who make sure that students gain the self-assurance and abilities necessary for success.

St. Peter’s is known for preparing its students particularly well for life after primary school, and the inspector also commended the variety of leadership possibilities offered to students, such as ambassador roles, house captains, and buddying initiatives.

Close collaboration with parents is valued at St. Peter’s, and parents are encouraged to voice concerns and get involved in their child’s education. When more assistance is required, the school also collaborates with outside organizations and experts.

Caroline Barriball and Samantha Sandle, co-headteachers, said:

“We are thrilled that Ofsted has recognised what makes St Peter’s so special—our community spirit, our ambition for every pupil, and the values that guide everything we do.

This outcome reflects the dedication of our staff, the positivity of our pupils, and the support we receive from families and the wider Trust.”

Liz Easaw, director of primary education at the Greenshaw Learning Trust, commented:

St Peter’s continues to provide an inspiring and inclusive education.

The leadership team and staff have created a learning environment where pupils are encouraged to grow in confidence and achieve great things.

We are very proud of what they have achieved.”

How does St Peter’s primary school support children with additional needs in Croydon?

Because of the school’s dedication to inclusion, students with special educational needs (SEN) can participate completely in all facets of school life and have access to a wide range of academic subjects. Lesson plans, instructional techniques, and learning objectives are modified by teachers to accommodate the unique requirements of students with special education needs or impairments.

Learning plans, also known as individual education plans, may include individualized goals for children with special needs. In order to promote the child’s development at home and at school, these plans are reviewed and shared with parents on a regular basis.

Through observation, evaluation, and goal-setting, the school seeks to identify children with special needs as soon as possible so that prompt and suitable treatment can be provided.
