Luskentyre beach is the best beach in Britain

St Mawes in Cornwall
If you’re looking for the perfect family beach, look no further than Cornwall. This small fishing town sits within the gulf stream, so it enjoys a Mediterranean climate in the summer. Broad Haven South in Kent
If you are a keen surfer, Broad Haven South is the place for you. The beach has strong currents but is backed by dunes. It is accessible through steep steps cut into the cliff at the southern end. You can find a cafe and a shop here. However, if you’re not looking for an extreme sport, you should stick to the calm waters of Broad Haven South.

Tenby’s Castle Beach has been named the best British beach of 2019. The Sunday Times has been judging beaches around the UK for 11 years and has just announced that the sandy stretch in Tenby is the best in Britain. This year’s Great British Beach Guide judged 422 beaches and came up with a shortlist of 40. It’s a short list, but there’s plenty to love about the stunning Tenby coastline.
Holkham beach
If you’re in the mood for a day by the seaside, Holkham beach in Norfolk may be just the ticket. Its expansive, golden sands feel worlds away, even at low tide. Its nearby salt marshes are intriguing, and you can spot peregrine falcons and dark green fritillaries. Its tidal currents are strong enough to bring in waves, but that doesn’t keep you from enjoying a day at this idyllic beach.
Aberlady Bay
The stretch of coastline east of Edinburgh is full of beautiful beaches, and Aberlady Bay is a particularly special location. This dune-backed expanse is a nature reserve dating back to 1952. The area consists of sand, salt marsh, and mudflats, making it a haven for wildlife.
