The Importance of a SEO/ Content Strategy

Persuading you to create a content strategy in 700 words. That’s a 5 min read that could 5X your figures…

This Is Why Your Business Needs a Blog/ Content Strategy

Listen, I get it, when I started content writing, I was thinking, “Why on earth would people pay me to write about their business, a trending topic and their products as blog posts?”. Do they actually work? Is SEO just a cool buzz word?

Saying that you use SEO and SERP performance indicators to increase your revenue and actually understanding their capabilities are two different things.

Fast forward a couple of years later and it’s still prevalent. I’m writing with SEO as a backbone now more than ever. Why? A simple answer – Content strategies work and they work damn well.

SEO in Simple Terms

Think about the first thing you type into Google when finding something… It’s usually something simple like, “Can dogs eat…”

If you sell dog food, you could link an informative article about the aforementioned topic back to your product. The traffic came looking for info and answers but also left your website with a product, and you a little bit richer. All from a strategic blog post.

What about a travel article to a unique destination, with a different angle? After reading the blog (because everyone needs a visual) they’ll most likely book through your agency’s site. The cliché that “Words are power blah blah blah…” is also true.

Google receives over 5.6 billion searches per day, and around 15% of those searches have never been seen before. This highlights the constant evolution and complexity of SEO as search queries continue to change and diversify.

The Advantages of SEO

People are more likely to invest in something if it’s not shoved in their face. “Buy this!” Doesn’t work anymore. Be subtle. Keep consumers content with your content.

Compared to many other digital marketing strategies like pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, SEO is a cost-effective long-term solution. Once you’ve optimized your website and content, the ongoing maintenance and improvement costs are relatively low. Additionally, organic search traffic doesn’t incur direct advertising costs, making it an efficient way to reach your target audience without continually paying for clicks.

This Is the Power of 1 Piece of SEO Content

High-quality SEO content demonstrates your expertise and authority in your field. When your content provides valuable information, answers questions, or solves problems for your audience, it builds trust.

Unlike some forms of advertising that have a limited lifespan, SEO content can provide long-term value. It remains accessible on your website and can continue to attract traffic and generate leads or sales for months or even years after publication. That’s the power of evergreen content.

Now imagine if you add an informative blog post only once a week… That’s potentially four times the traffic and conversions generated in one month from four organic pieces of content. Neat. If it’s an evergreen piece, the content will remain prevalent and converting in the following months as well.

Companies That Focus on SEO Blogs for Organic Reach

Additionally, Hubspot helped Ramki increase its website traffic by 882% within just 9 months after implementing a weekly content strategy.

In 2021, Walmart reached $43B USD in e-commerce sales, a more than 70% increase year-over-year using an SEO content strategy.

Grammarly is committed to its blog production which attracts more than half (~11.2M) of its estimated search traffic.

Carwow attracts 2.6M monthly organic viewers from the U.K. alone ($3.5M worth of ads) using a targeted keyword strategy instead.

Why Not Use ChatGPT?

Ah, we’ve finally got to the beckoning question. Sure, you could use ChatGPT… If you want your content to be at the bottom of the pile. You see, ChatGPT is great but it just flips around information that’s already been published. Nothing is ever new. Content writers make your content unique, never before published in that way. That’s how you rank. That’s how you sell.

Invest in an SEO Content Strategy

If you’re interested in ranking better, increasing engagement organically and optimizing your website with evergreen content, it’s worth investing in this SEO content strategy.
