The UK’s Best Workplaces

London (Parliament Politics Magazine) – According to job review’s site Glassdoor’s 2022 ranking, technology firms account for 19 out of the 50 top companies to work for, dominating the list with 7 tech companies in the top 10. US workflow software company ServiceNow took the top spot, but companies like Salesforce and Adobe also made it into the top 10. Salesforce was also one of only four firms to appear on all of Glassdoor’s regional lists, which includes countries such as France, Germany and the United States.

Interestingly, after a year of controversy, Meta – formerly known as Facebook – made it to the top ten in the UK, whilst dropping 36 places in America, from 11th to 47th.

The list ranking is decided by the company’s “focus on a flexible approach to work-life balance, great company culture, and good career growth”, according to Glassdoor.

For the California-based company, ServiceNow, it is the first time it has made the list since opening a London office in 2019. ServiceNow develops cloud computing platforms for enterprise workflows and was founded in 2004. It now has offices all over the world, including two in the UK. The company won because of its “fantastic culture, the potential for opportunities, and excellent training”.

One employee said on the company’s blog that “ServiceNow embodies diversity, inclusion, belonging, sustainable living, work-life balance and fun. We all work hard, but management supports us to be the best we can be. I’ve worked in a lot of industries and types of jobs, and this is the best company I’ve been a part of.”

Glassdoor also said that “being named the winner of Glassdoor’s 14th annual Employees’ Choice Awards, honouring the UK’s Best Places to Work in 2022 is no small feat, especially for a company that has never before featured on our annual list of winners”.

The top ten places to work in the UK in 2022, according to Glassdoor’s ranking, are: ServiceNow, AND Digital, Salesforce, Immediate Media Company, Abcam, McKinsey & Company, Adobe, VMware, Arm and Meta. Whilst tech firms have certainly dominated the list this year, it is worth noting that other prominently featured industries include finance, manufacturing, travel and tourism, construction, media, retail and restaurants.
