Harrow (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Motorists in Harrow face disruption as October brings multiple road closures, including one street set to remain shut for two months, council confirms.
While gas works are being done, Clamp Hill in Harrow Weald will close on September 22 and stay closed for the entirety of October and most of November. Early in the month, nearby Honey Pot Lane will also be closed for a week in order to do maintenance on UK Power Networks.
According to one.network, the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) has discovered every road closure that is scheduled for October, both planned and ongoing.
Roads will be closed for weeks or even months at a period during some closures, while others will simply be closed overnight.
Residents may have to find another route to get to their destination due to traffic disruptions caused by the closures.
One of the major closures is the Meredith Close in Hatch End, which has been blocked since early September and will stay closed until November 21 for Thames Water maintenance.
The Avenue in Hatch End, which has been closed since September 1 for water work, is anticipated to resume on October 3.
The list of all the scheduled and ongoing road closures that will be in effect during October and beyond is provided below. In order to prevent significant disruptions, residents should keep an eye out for diversion routes.

How will emergency vehicle access be maintained during closures?
In the event of planned road closures in Harrow and other municipalities, access for emergency vehicles is offered through Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) which regularly employ designated traffic lanes and routes that aren’t impeded by construction or obstructions, therefore emergency vehicles can move through without impediment.
The temporary barriers that are deployed in order to execute the traffic control process, are equipped with a quick-release device that can be unlocked and removed, thereby allowing access for emergency vehicles.
There is communication between the construction team, and the emergency service team to update them on the road closures in order to provide them time to modify their route.
The TCP identifies the alternate route and communicates the route to emergency responders in the eventuality that the primary route is blocked. The traffic lights in proximity to the work zones may also be programmed to provide emergency vehicles an expedient pass through the work zone.
