Lambeth (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Police have named the man killed in a Lambeth shooting this week as 27-year-old Kyrone Moodie, as investigations into the fatal attack continue.
On Monday night, September 8, Kyrone and another guy were shot and killed on New Park Road, off Brixton Hill, Lambeth. Kyrone passed away in the hospital a few hours later.
Another victim was a 20-year-old. He was transported to the hospital with Kyrone and has since been released after surviving his injuries.
In a statement, Kyrone’s grieving family refers to him as a “God-worshiping family oriented man”, while investigators continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
On Monday, September 8, detectives will once more ask everyone in the New Park Road neighborhood to provide doorbell or CCTV footage immediately.
At 8:50 p.m., police received a call of a shooting. Tragically, Kyrone passed away in the hospital early on Tuesday, September 9.
Specialized policemen are still providing support to his family.
Is there going to be a Police or Community briefing on the incident?
Police organizations often do this type of briefing on serious, sensitive matters to inform the public, to legitimize themselves and to appeal to witnesses to step up and assist with information.
Specialist officers, who continually offer advice and support, will be contacting the victim’s family and community representatives.
Public appeals for information, notification about rewards like the current £15,000 reward, and the ability to provide anonymous tips are often part of the communication strategy to provide support to the investigation.
These types of briefings are often either led by, or at least coordinated with, local Police command or senior detective investigators and it often, but not always helps, to do these types of briefings at venues like community centers or in spaces like online to increase the potential for participants.
