Lewisham (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Lewisham Council has announced the opening of the Winter Gardens at Beckenham Place Park, offering visitors a new green space and seasonal attraction.

The Winter auditoriums, a brand-new out-of-door event that brings the Christmas spirit to Lewisham, are located inside the major grounds of Beckenham Place Park.

The event will start on Saturday, November 15, and run until January 4, 2026, throughout the vacation season. Admission to the auditoriums is free.

Supported by Lewisham Council, the event will transfigure the demesne into a downtime wonderland with The Revel Puck Circus, Lewisham’s” first” covered ice rink, a Christmas- themed mini golf course, a gleeful funfair, and a request.

Over 15 rides, including Santa’s Runaway Train and reindeer flying planes, will be available at the funfair, and 15 vendors will sell everything from seasonal delicacies to handcrafted presents at the market.

O’ Christmas Tree, where you can purchase high-quality trees and decorations to get you in the festive mood, is also present at the event.

The food and drink options will include everything from churros and traditional sweets to gourmet burgers and Christmas Yorkshire pudding wraps.

With free pup-a-chinos available and a puppy store in the Homestead Courtyard, the event is also dog-friendly.

In the meanwhile, The Winter Lodge will provide a cozy covered space with everything from mulled wine and holiday cocktails with live music to a family-friendly space with board games and Christmas movies, along with a teen games bar.

Along with vacation shopping, callers may enjoy a variety of seasonal entertainment in the Homestead Courtyard, including live music and hymn singing.

The man in red will also be there, and families can reserve a time slot to see Santa in his cavern.

Still, the event will encourage attendees to contribute to the Lewisham Donation Hub, an original charity that will have a position at the event, in addition to furnishing gleeful enjoyment.

Cllr Louise Krupski – Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport and Climate Action – said:

“It’s brilliant to see one of our most iconic parks transformed into a festive wonderland.

I really hope residents will come down with friends and family to have fun, enjoy the atmosphere, support local businesses and make some truly special memories together.”

Tickets for specific conditioning like the ice rink and circus can be bought online, but admission to the Winter auditoriums is free.

Are there accessible facilities and parking at Beckenham Place Park?

The park has a pay-and-display auto demesne with 108 spaces, including six designated kudos reserved for Blue Badge holders. Parking outside the designated auto demesne is n’t permitted, and double unheroic lines are executed to keep access clear.

The car park face consists of loose chippings and is open air, located at the end of the access road from the main entrance on Beckenham Hill Road. Several accessible toilets are available in the Homestead Courtyard area, including impaired toilets with baby changing installations. These are step-free and equipped with detector gates and cleaner dispensers.

There’s step-free access at the main entrance and yard area, with wide double doors suitable for wheelchair druggies. The park paths are substantially wide enough for wheelchair druggies, although some have slight to moderate pitches. The Mansion structure is also wheelchair accessible and has a impaired restroom, but access is limited to event times.
