UK (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Netflix will stream all 10 seasons of Stargate SG-1 from 15 February 2026, including the UK and selected international regions.

As reported by Louis Chilton of The Independent, Netflix has confirmed that the popular sci-fi series Stargate SG-1 will return to its streaming platform.

How many seasons of Stargate SG-1 are coming back to Netflix?

The television series Stargate SG-1, based on the 1994 science-fiction film starring James Spader and Kurt Russell, originally aired on both Showtime and the Sci-Fi Network between 1997 and 2007, during which it became a landmark series in the science-fiction genre.

Netflix confirmed this week that all 10 seasons of Stargate SG-1, comprising 214 episodes, will be available in the US and select international territories, including the UK.

The series will become available to stream on Netflix starting 15 February 2026.

In Stargate SG-1, a team of interstellar adventurers, portrayed by Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, Amanda Tapping, and Christopher Judge, explores distant worlds through a mysterious alien portal.

The popularity of Stargate SG-1 led to several spin-offs, including Stargate Infinity, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe, and Stargate Origins, while Prime Video is currently developing a new series.

The series is considered a landmark in science fiction and has received a warm reception from fans on social media following Netflix’s announcement of its return to the platform.

One person said,

“Looks like #Stargate SG-1 is landing back on @netflix in February, all 10 seasons. Happy happy, joy joy!”

Another added,

“They’ve just put FRINGE and STARGATE:SG1 on streaming so I’ll see you in a couple of months, OK?”

How is Prime Video expanding the Stargate franchise?

Prime Video plans to expand the Stargate universe, developing a new TV series even as the original show returns to Netflix, with a dedicated creative team.

The new Stargate series will be led by Martin Gero as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. He has previously worked on fan-favorite shows Quantum Leap and Blindspot.

The upcoming Stargate series will also feature original franchise creators Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin, along with Brad Wright and Joe Mallozzi, signaling a promising future for Prime Video’s franchise plans.

Gero said,

“Twenty years ago, my first real job in television was as a Story Editor on ‘Stargate: Atlantis.’ I spent five years at the franchise working across all three series, ‘Stargate’ taught me everything about making television — it’s written into my DNA.”

He added,

“I’m beyond thrilled that Amazon MGM Studios has entrusted me with guiding this incredible franchise into its next phase. For those who’ve kept the gate active through conventions, rewatches, and unwavering faith — this one’s for you. And for those that are new to our world — I promise you’re in for something extraordinary.”
