Harrow (Parliament Politics Magazine) – A Harrow off-licence has received a 1 out of 5 food hygiene rating following its latest inspection by authorities, raising concerns over standards.
On August 1, 2025, Harrow Foods & Wine, located at 6 Central Parade on Station Road, and across from the large Tesco, passed an examination.
The company, which is classified as a retailer, was given a score that indicates” major advancements” are needed.
The three main regions were estimated by inspectors. Food handling hygiene was assessed as taking enhancement. This covers the medication, cuisine, reheating, cooling, and storehouse of food.
The installations’ general state and cleanliness were also noted as demanding form. This includes pest operation, handwashing stations, ventilation, and layout.
The operation of food safety, which was supposed to bear significant enhancement, was the main area of concern.
This has to do with personnel awareness of food safety, the existence of appropriate processes and checks, and the ability to uphold standards.
What were the specific violations noted in the inspection report?
Harrow Foods & Wine’s examination report from August 1, 2025, stressed violations across three orders taking intervention. Hygiene food handling issues included indecorous storehouse of ready- to- eat foods above raw particulars, riskingcross-contamination, and shy separation of drawing chemicals from food areas.
Cleanliness and condition of installations showed poor conservation, similar to dirty bottoms, walls, and equipment shells, alongside inadequate handwashing installations without cleaner or disposable napkins. Pest control setbacks were apparent from gaps in doors allowing entry points.
The most severe issues involved systems for food safety operation, including lack of staff training records, no hazard analysis for high- threat foods, and failure to maintain temperature logs for fridges holding pre-packed sandwiches and dairy. Confidence in harmonious norms was low due to these systemic gaps.
