Sutton (Parliament Politics Magazine) – A Sutton bistro owner Jackie Gale says the pride “never fades” after receiving another national award, marking continued recognition for his restaurant’s excellence.
At the 2025 – 2026 Good Food Award, LA Café, which is positioned directly across from Sutton station, entered the Gold Seal.
This is its alternate time winning the coveted Gold Seal award and its fourth straight palm.
Ankur Baria, the proprietor and chef who founded LA Café in 2021, expressed his “deep honour” at the most recent accolade.
In a statement, he said:
“For some, this may sound monotonous and very familiar news.
Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to be featured in the press, to make headlines, and to receive numerous accolades.
Yet, to achieve this recognition year after year, with consistency, humility, and devotion to our craft, is something that still fills me with immense pride and gratitude.”
The multi-award-winning boîte is well known for its inventive cookery, drinking air, and eatery- style chow that deviates from typical cafés.
Since launching, LA Café has constantly met the conditions of the Good Food Award, which honors independent companies that give outstanding food, value, and service.
Ankur added:
“This achievement belongs to my incredible team – the passionate individuals who give their best every single day; to our trusted suppliers and partners who share our commitment to quality; and to everyone who contributes to making LA Café what it is today.
You are the heartbeat of our success.
Behind every plate we serve and every cup we pour lies unwavering dedication – the tireless efforts of a team that refuses to settle for anything less than excellence.”
The café has gained a remarkable five-star Google rating from almost 1,600 reviews since it opened, making it a local favorite.
It has received several more honors just this year, such as the #LoveSuttonBiz Award and a perfect 10/10 in Gary Eat’s new “Where Gary Eats” culinary guide.
LA Café is renowned for its constantly changing menu and daily specials, which guarantee that no two visits are the same.
Ankur added:
“To our loyal clients and the wonderful community that surrounds us thank you.
Your continued love and support inspire us to keep pushing boundaries, to evolve, and to create experiences that delight and comfort in equal measure.
We are who we are because of you, and that truth will always guide us forward.”
LA Café is open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are plans to open a second location, LA Café Bistro, which will serve evening meals.
