A visit to Plaka, the oldest district under the Acropolis Hill in the heart of the Center is a must. It has been inhabited for over 3,000 years and many famous Greek people have walked its streets. It is one of the most picturesque areas, with lovely archeological sites and neoclassical buildings that are filled with rich history. The Venizelos Mansion, the oldest house in Athens is located in Plaka and is now a museum which is open to the public.
Aside from its unique and unparalleled History, Athens offers a wide variety of amazing traditional food. While you’re strolling around Monastiraki or through   the city center you will come across many taverns, where you can sample the quintessential Greek Souvlaki. It is perhaps the first well known street food and consists of a wrap with pitta bread, meat, and sauce and is totally delectable!
