Barking & Dagenham (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Two men were arrested in Dagenham after police uncovered stolen tools linked to multiple thefts. Officers urge victims to come forward with proof.

During a warrant search in the Dagenham area today (August 5), Operation Yamata investigators discovered power tools and equipment that were allegedly stolen from their rightful owners.

Two men, ages 22 and 57, were taken into custody on suspicion of stealing from six cars, supplying class A narcotics, and possessing class A drugs with the intent to distribute them (crack cocaine).

In order to return the tools to their original owners, police are now urging the owners to come forward.

Several drills (impact, hammer, and combi), angle grinders, a reciprocating saw, a jigsaw, and multitools are among the items found.

The characteristic letters “AB Ltd” and “Joe” are inscribed on some of the tools.

The majority are Festool and Dewalt brands.

PC James McMahon said:

“Anyone who recognises the items in these pictures is asked to get in touch, so that we can return them to the rightful owners.

Please be aware you must provide proof of ownership in order to claim any of the tools.”

What measures are being taken to return the stolen tools to owners in Dagenham?

The police have issued a public appeal asking owners who recognize the recovered tools to come forward. They have asked these owners to provide proof of ownership before the tools can be returned.

The police have shared details about the recovered items—including types and brands of tools (such as drills, grinders, saws)—and mentioned distinctive markings like “AB Ltd” and “Joe” on some tools to help rightful owners identify their property.

Owners are encouraged to contact the police by calling 101 and quoting a specific reference number (CAD960/05AUG25) to claim their tools.
