Ealing (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Ealing Broadway launches two festive initiatives with Calling London and Home-Start Ealing to support vulnerable residents with warmth, gifts, and community aid.
Ealing Broadway is encouraging people to get involved and help make a difference during the holiday season, from helping local families with its Christmas Giving Tree to supporting needy citizens through its Winter Coat Donation campaign.
Ealing Broadway has gathered more than 500 coats for London’s most disadvantaged citizens as this year’s Winter Coat Donation draws to a close.
Building on the popularity of prior years, the initiative once more urged visitors to contribute high-quality, clean coats to help individuals who are struggling over the winter.
The center, in collaboration with Calling London, gathered coats of various sizes, from infants to adults, including duffle coats, wool coats, ski jackets, and down coats.
Every coat will now be given directly to a London resident in need this winter; no donations are ever sold.
Visitors can fulfill local families’ Christmas wishes at the Giving Tree, which is open until Tuesday, December 9. The program is operated in collaboration with Home-Start Ealing, which offers families in the borough both emotional and practical help for young children.
Visitors can choose a tag from the tree inside Jamaica Blue, buy a gift to fulfill the desire, and then return it unwrapped to the donation box next to the tree.
After that, Home-Start Ealing will gather and give out the presents at its yearly Christmas celebration, relieving the burden on nearby families and bringing happiness to kids around the borough.
Andrew Rollings, Centre Director at Ealing Broadway, said:
“Christmas is all about supporting those who need it most, so we’re really proud to be partnering with calling London and Home Start Ealing on these meaningful initiatives that make a real difference to local residents.”
Whether it’s donating a warm coat or buying a gift for a family in need, these small acts of kindness can bring warmth and joy to people across our community this winter. It’s really easy to get involved and only takes a few minutes out of your day as part of a festive trip to the centre.
”We hope our visitors will join us in celebrating the season and share in the spirit of giving back.”
